Kindergarten listened to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech every day for a week before nap time so that they could think about it while they rested, and then they created a wall display that reads, “I can change the world with my two hands.” Now it has everyone’s handprints on it. They then illustrated how they could use their two hands to make a change in the world. Teachers assisted them in writing about their illustrations, and all are displayed in the Elementary Hall.
The middle school students studied Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous quotations and chose one that spoke to them about social justice and appreciating all humans as “God’s creations.” With partners, they created posters which included the quotation they chose and how they see it coming to fruition in our world.
